Monsoon
From the picturesque hillside plantations of Uva, Sri Lanka comes one of the world's most sought after teas – Uva Monsoon. Situated in eastern Sri Lanka, this region produces a distinctive, mellow tea flavour that results from the strong desiccating winds that blow across the island and cause chemical change in the tea shoots.
Uva – Monsoon is one of my favourite tea’s and can be drunk with or without milk. If you like English Breakfast, Malthouse, or Chai Nova you should try Monsoon as well.

Robert Fortune
All people who love good tea (i.e. people who drink Chai) should thank this English botanist who solved the secrets of tea making jealously guarded by the Chinese. Having spent 1833-45 researching rare tea plants in China, Fortune was enlisted by the British Tea Committee to return on an undercover mission in 1848.
Fortune landed in Shanghai disguised as a Chinese merchant and, accompanied by Chinese co-conspirators, set out to the different tea regions throughout China. He visited tea gardens, taking notes of soils, tea gathering and processing, as well as taking many samples.
At the end of his journey he travelled to Calcutta, then in British India, where his expertise proved invaluable in setting up Britain's tea industry. So the moral of the story, when all else fails copy – and that’s why you see other tea brands in New Zealand now introducing new teas to try and match the Chai flavour!

Moroccan Mint
British tea merchants introduced green tea to Morocco in the late 1800’s after they had lost Slavic markets due to the Crimean war. Moroccans welcomed tea with delight, for it cut the harshness of their usual brew of purely mint leaves. In fact they took to it so much so that Moroccan Mint now means green tea with mint.
As in most Muslim countries, serving tea is a man’s affair, and is usually performed by the head of the family, this symbolizing his role as husband, father, and host. The teapot is held high above, and poured into small coloured glasses to create a small head of foam on the tea.
Tea is drunk throughout the day, often accompanied by sweets, or with meals to aid digestion.
